Barbara's Story

Barbara Jean Ramsey, 74, of Oklahoma City, passed away May 17, 2013. She was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Oklahoma City. Barbara married Coy Walker on Sept. 28, 1956, and they resided in Moore. She attended South Walker Church of Christ. Barbara enjoyed teaching music. She was a private voice and piano teacher in her home for more than 50 years. She had her 50th showcase this year. She was very dedicated and became well known as a music teacher and coach across the state. Barbara was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking. She always had Christmas for her students with her famous punch and Chex mix which was homemade. She was known for her chicken tetrazzini and was always asked to bring it to family reunions. She was the apple pie maker. Barbara loved her dog “Honey.” She was an awesome artist. She did pastel painting. Barbara loved her family and her first love was spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, Mike Ramsey and Pat Ramsey, both of Moore; daughter, Gaylyn Triplett and husband Robert of Wanette; four grandchildren, Lance, Brad, Desiree and Jennifer; seven great-grandchildren and one due in June; three sisters, Donna Mae Stovall of Midwest City, Janet Baker of Wynnewood, and Judy Lewis of Moore; and a brother, Tommy Hines, of Yukon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Ramsey; mom and dad, Mable and Mike Hines; and brother, Jerry Hines. Services are under the direction of John M.
