Billy's Story

Text size

Billy Clyde Cordell passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Oklahoma City. He enjoyed numerous trades throughout his career including sound design engineer and, most recently, mechanical trades. Billy also enjoyed charity work at Skyline Ministries. He was a best friend to all who crossed his path and always eager to lend a hand. He was a loving companion, an excellent son and a hero to his grandkids and will be greatly missed as “Poppa Billy.” He is survived by his wife, Lori Smith, of the home; mother and stepdad, Estelle and Jim of Oklahoma City; father and stepmom, James and Connie of Norman; brothers Eddie and wife Barb and Jimmy and wife Linda; stepbrother, Michael; stepsister, Julie; nephews Dalton and Cabbott; nieces, Crystal, Andrea, Shalee and Nisya; stepchildren, Jessica, Greg and Shawn; grandkids, Tonessa, Kiara, Kadin and Jaden; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to acknowledge the great love, support and friendship shown by the patrons and staff of the Regency Club. In addition, the professionalism and compassion of the staff of Norman Regional Hospital is to be highly commended. Services were Tuesday, Sept. 30, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home in Moore. Interment followed at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wheatland.
