Carolyn Lucille Challis was born Dec. 14, 1943, in Concho, to Dewight Kishketon and Bertha 'Whitewater' Kishketon. She went to be with her Heavenly Father Dec. 25, 2014, from her home in Moore, at the age of 71. Carolyn was a beautician with Alice Tribble's Beauty Salon for 10 years. She was an active member of the First Indian Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher, a Blue Bird leader and Boy Scout leader. She was a Corvette member, Oklahoma City and was active in the PTA at Kelley school. She enjoyed oil painting, Native American arts and crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wilbur, Kenneth and Elvis; sister, Marilyn; and great-grandsons, William Barrett and Tyler Tanner. She is survived by her husband, Billy Dean Challis, of Moore; a son, Tommie Dean Challis of Oklahoma City; daughters and sons-in-laws, Sharon and Dan McCoy of White, Ga., Kathy and Bill Barrett of Moore and Joyce and Mark Allison of Ft. Worth Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, LaFern and Jim Lauderdale of McCloud; sisters-in-laws, Arlene Leonard, Norma Ellis and Shirley Hayes; a brother-in-law, Grant Challis; and numerous nephews, nieces, friends and loved ones.
