Donna's Story

Donna Marie (Anderson) Smith, 84, of Moore, formerly of Memphis, Tenn., passed away peacefully on May 3, 2015, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith E. Smith; parents, Clarence W. and Pearl (Knight) Anderson; brother, Paul Anderson; and sisters Marion Willoughby and Darlene Harsch. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Simonetti Nichols of Memphis, Tenn., and Julie Orrick of Moore; son, Mark Smith of Atlanta; and grandchildren Kiersten Orrick of Moore, Keith Wyrick and Kimmie Simonetti of Memphis, Tenn., and Katie Pohjola of Muskegon, Mich. She was born on July 3, 1930, in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was employed by the Internal Revenue Service and H&R Block. She was known for her caring attitude and charitable donations of crocheted baby caps to the Regional Medical Center of Memphis and knitted afghans to nursing homes in Memphis and Blytheville, Ark. Arrangements are being taken care of at Resthaven Funeral Home of Oklahoma City. The family is asking instead of flowers to please send any charitable donations or memorials in her name to the DSAM (Down’s Syndrome Association of Memphis and the Mid-south), 2893 S.
