Edna Marie Bowen went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, Sept. 28, 2014. She was born Oct. 11, 1931, in Louisburg, N.C., to the late Jimmie and Ruby Aycock. Marie was the beloved wife of Thomas Benton Bowen Jr. for 63 years. She was a devoted, loving mother to her three sons, Michael Benton Bowen and wife Lillian of Houston, Larry Warren Bowen and wife Denise of Wichita, Kan., and David Lee Bowen and wife Paula of Oklahoma City. Tirelessly devout in her faith throughout her life, Marie was an active member of Eastern Avenue Baptist Church in Moore since 1976 and was also active for many years as a volunteer in a number of ministry organizations in the community. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Ann McAchran and husband Fred of Norfolk, Va.; grandchildren, Boston Elizabeth Laughrey and husband Chad of Kearney, Neb., Kyle Eliot Bowen and wife Christie of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Eric Davis Bowen of Oklahoma City; as well as six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of John M. Ireland and Son Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway, in Moore.
