Harry F. Taylor completed his earthly journey on December 14, 2009. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church Moore on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. Visitation was 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home. Harry Foster Taylor was born May 16, 1924, to Harry A. and Nina (Voelker) Taylor in Witten, South Dakota. He served with the Navy during World War ll. Upon returning, Harry married the love of his life, Dorothy Dice. Harry and Dorothy had five children. He was a member of First Baptist Church Moore and served as a deacon for many years. Harry earned degrees in education at Chadron State College, Chadron, Nebraska; Central State University and OSU. He was inducted into the Chadron State College Football Hall of Fame in 1998. He taught and coached in Nebraska before moving to Oklahoma in 1956. Harry taught driver's education at Northeast High School before coming to Moore School district in 1963 where he was a driver's education instructor, assistant principal and principal. He retired in 1985. He had lived in Vici, Cleveland and Woodward since retirement. Harry is survived by his wife of 62 1/2 years, his children Robert Taylor (Debbie), Oklahoma City; Verna Glasgow (Ed), Keller, Texas; Sandra Taylor, Norman; Harry B. Taylor (Julia), Oklahoma City; Donald Taylor (Jean), Hereford, Texas; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a host of family and friends. Harry was preceded in death by one son, Ronald, a granddaughter, Dorothy Glasgow; his parents; two sisters and one brother. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Moore Building Fund.
