Jason's Story

Text size

Jason Michael Webster, 40, lost his courageous 18-month battle with Melanoma on Sunday evening, Dec. 7, 2014. He was born on May 12, 1974, in Rochester, Minn., the eldest of two children, to Robert “Bob” & Karin Webster. Jason became a lifelong resident of Moore in October of 1978 when Mr. & Mrs. Webster moved the family to Moore from Stewartville, Minn. He attended Plaza Towers Elementary School, Highland West Junior High, and, eventually, Moore High School, where he was chosen for both the junior varsity swim team and the varsity diving team. Some years later, Jason eventually found a profession that he enjoyed when he became employed as an oilfield electrician with Burton Controls in Oklahoma City and later with Patco Electrical Service in Oklahoma City. On weekends, he could usually be found in front of a TV watching his beloved Sooners play football or his favorite NASCAR driver, Dale Jr. making laps around the track. He also enjoyed tossing back a few cold ones sitting by the pool, spending time with family and friends, while cooking out at his dad’s house. Jason was a loving, devoted and loyal son, brother and friend, but felt most rewarded when fulfilling his duties as Uncle Jason. He often went beyond his duties as uncle for his Punky-doodles & his Bubba. He never missed an opportunity to spend time cutting up with them, playing catch or fishing. Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Karin Webster; his nephew, Matthew Riley Webster; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and three aunts. He is survived by his two sisters, Kelly Nichols and husband Shawn of Moore and Susanne Dunipace of Ocean Springs, Miss.; three brothers, Tim Madsen and wife Kim of Santa Cruz, Calif., Stephen Dunipace and wife Michaela of Ocean Springs, Miss., and James A. Doughty Jr. of Moore; three nieces, Kasey Webster of Moore, Laura Whitten of Mustang and Skye Landon of Colorado; and two nephews, Ethan Nichols of Moore and Cale Whitten of Bethany; as well as numerous other family members, lifelong friends and neighbors. Services for Jason were Dec. 15, 2014, in the chapel at John Ireland Funeral Home in Moore. Interment followed  at Smith Cemetery, also in Moore.
