Jerry's Story

Jerry Dean Lowe, of Moore, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Jackson Lowe and Arrildia Lowe Dethloff; infant son, Terry Wayne Lowe; sister, Wanda Jean Lowe McCasland; and son-in-law, Stan Blakemore. He is survived by four children, daughter, Diane Lowe Blakemore of Shawnee, daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Richard (Rick) Green of Norman, a son, Darrel Mark Lowe of Tulsa and daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Scott Jarantowski of Norman; as well as seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jerry was born June 20, 1939, in Tribbey, and later moved to Bridgeport, Texas. He graduated from Decatur Baptist College in 1965, and moved to Shawnee to attend Oklahoma Baptist University where he earned his bachelor of theology degree. Jerry served as pastor at Hilltop Baptist Church in Shawnee, Union Valley, as well as churches in Mt. Zion, Texas, and Wizard Wells, Texas. Throughout his life he had several vocations. He was a member of the teamster union, foreman at Shawnee Milling Company and drove a truck for Leeway Roadway, and other trucking companies. He lived the last years of his life in the Oklahoma City and Moore area. Services were Oct. 26, at Moore Funeral and Cremation. A private interment will be held at a later date at West Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, Texas. Norman Transcript, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013
