Jimmy D. Taylor, 65, died Dec. 26. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29 at New Life United Methodist Church, with burial following at Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Mr. Taylor was born in Shamrock, Texas to Dick and Ramona Taylor and later moved to Norman, where he attended high school. After high school, he enlisted in the Army. He worked for Lucent Technologies in St. Louis, before retiring. His nickname was “Friday Night Jim” given to him because of his championship pool playing. He loved life and his family, they said. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Pelley-Taylor of Moore; two children, Kenneth Taylor and Wendy Griffith, both of Oklahoma City; one brother, Larry Taylor of Houston; stepson Robert Pelley and wife Kathy of Moore; stepdaughter, Tracy Pelley-Rariden and husband Steve of Moore; and four grandchildren, Sara Koos and husband Jeremy of Norman, Matthew Small, Ryan Small and Levi Taylor, all of Oklahoma City. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
