Juanita “Nita” May Polk, 88, of Moore, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015. She was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Trousdale, to Howard C. and Clara Josephine (Sanders) McDonald. Nita was a member of Heavenly Heights Baptist Church. She loved sports, especially baseball, and she had an extended softball family. Nita enjoyed sewing and helped make quilts for the church. Nita is survived by her niece, Barbara and Nick Davis; three grandchildren, Kasey and Jimmy Eby, Kristyn and Stephen Clifton and Kara Polk; and one great-grandson, Cage Eby. She was preceded in death by husband, Benny Polk; two sons, Keith Allen Polk and Karl Gene Polk; her parents; her sister, Margaret McIntire; and her niece, Patricia Hartman. Services for Nita were held Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, at Heavenly Heights Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Interment followed at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Services were under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home in Moore.
