Linda Lorie Welch, 69, of Moore, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015. She was born Aug. 24, 1945, in Tulsa, to Eugene and Gladys (Armstrong) Bryant. Linda was an elementary school teacher for the Moore Public Schools, and retired after over 20 years of service. She mostly taught 3rd graders at Earlywine Elementary. Linda loved to read. She liked to play games, especially dominoes and card games. She enjoyed mowing her yard. Linda was a great cook — her potato soup was the best and she made wonderful pies. Linda was extremely organized. She was cold-natured and loved to be in her pajamas, snuggled up under her blankets. Linda enjoyed watching The Price is Right and Forensic Files (all of the “who done it” shows). She also loved the movies, “Gone With The Wind,” “Titanic,” “The Ten Commandments,” “The Wizard Of Oz” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” Linda was a very caring and selfless woman and her first love was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Lorie Sneed and husband Floyd of Harrah; her son, Daniel Welch and girlfriend Lyndee Wright of Edmond; three grandchildren, Nathan Welch of Moore, Cody Moore of Harrah and Shaylee Ritter of Oklahoma City; the father of her children and friend, Danny Welch of Harrah; one sister, Jeanie Bryant; close friend, Barbara Stried of Everman, Texas; her mockingbird, Petie; and a host of cousins and other loving friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Gladys Bryant; and her dog, Baby. A memorial service for Linda will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, 120 S. Broadway, Moore. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
