Oleta “Leta” Spradlin, 74, of Moore, lost her battle to cancer after three years on Nov, 26, 2014. She was born on April 1, 1940, in Rising Star, Texas, where she also grew up, to Oscar and Agnes Maddux. As an adult, she settled into a life in Moore with her three boys, Robert, Rodney and Ricky. She worked, and later retired from Lucent Technologies, formerly known as Western Electric. Leta was a long-time member of Regency Park Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with family every chance she got. Every Saturday night was a night to remember at her house, where she and close family and friends would gather to enjoy her homemade cooking and share lots of memories. There would often be puzzles, dominoes or games to entertain, all in good fun. There was always a lot of laughter for anyone involved in her life and always a positive outlook, even in the darkest of times. She loved to work outside in her yard and in her spare time, she loved to quilt, craft and treasure hunt. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the chance to meet such an amazing woman. Leta is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Agnes Maddux; son, Rodney Spradlin; and brother, Ozzie Maddux. She is survived by her long-time love, Norman Reese; sons, Robert and Ricky Spradlin; daughter-in-law, LaDonna Spradlin; grandchildren, Dawayne, Amy and Adam Spradlin; great-grandchildren, Nicklas, Hunter and Cooper Spradlin; brother, Roy Maddux; sisters, Pauline Wheeler and Jeannie Bird. Services were Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Regency Park Baptist Church of Moore, with a graveside service at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home in Moore.
