Oleta's Story

Oleta Maxine Tolen, 86, passed away Aug. 3, 2015. She was born July 20, 1929, in Oklahoma City, the third of nine children to Joe Albert Jury and Linnie Dollie (January) Jury. In 1947, Oleta graduated from Moore High School and from Draughon School of Business in 1949. She retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1987, after having worked in civilian personnel, procurement and DMM B52/missiles division. Oleta volunteered at Brand Senior Center in Moore, was a member of AARP, NARFE, Cleveland County Genealogical Society, Moore 1921-58 Alumni Association, Oklahoma Genealogical Society, Oklahoma Historical Society and Moore Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert, Clarence, LeRoy and Harold Jury; and sister, Zelma Young. She is survived by son, Dale Jury Tolen; daughter, Joleta and Danny Klick; grandchildren Stephanie Hickey, Jonathan Henry, Mary Ellen Hernandez and Shai Ryan; great-grandchildren Colton and Kilee Hickey, Alexis and Aryssa Hernandez and Conner and Weston Henry; brother, Kenneth Jury, of Houston; and stepsisters Sherry George and Tammy James. In lieu of flowers, Oleta would have wanted donations to the building fund of her church and fellowship hall, which suffered major damage in the May 2013 tornado. Mail to Moore Church of God, P.O.
