Opal's Story

Opal Louise Chandler, 89, of Enid, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Opal was born on Jan. 4, 1926, in Bethany. Opal worked as a waitress and a homemaker. She enjoyed her nick-nacks and was a collector. She is survived by three children: her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Caldwell and husband J.R. of Moore, son, Terry Chandler and wife Ramona of Batesville, Alaska and son, Mark Chandler of Enid; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, John David Chandler; her parents; eight siblings; and one grandson. Funeral services were Monday, July 6, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home chapel. Interment followed at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wheatland. Moore American, Wednesday, July 8, 2015
