Paul Joseph Adams, of Moore, passed away August 20, 2015. He was born November 30, 1938, in Evanston, Illinois. Paul enjoyed hunting, camping and shooting. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed going with his friends and family on hunting trips. His sons and grandchildren share special memories of all those trips together. Though they didn’t always get a deer, they always enjoyed the camping and spending times in the woods together. Paul enjoyed military history and collecting military memorabilia. He enjoyed watching John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies, along with the Military channel. Paul grew up in Stillwater, but graduated from Pryor High School, in 1957 while he lived with his sister when his parents worked in Foreign Service in Cuba. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1966. Paul was an avid OSU fan, and he and Josephine have been season ticket holders for multiple sports over the past 20 years. While still in high school, Paul heard his country’s call and served in the Oklahoma National Guard and later the United States Army, where he received an honorable discharge for services rendered to his country. Paul also served in the Texas National Guard briefly when he lived in Texas. Paul was an instructor at the Federal Aviation Administration Academy in Oklahoma City, where he taught Logistics the last 8 years of his career and retired in 1995, after over 25 years of service. Paul and Josephine resided in Moore for the past 43 years. He was a kind, gentle, and loving person who had a zest for life. He never met a stranger. His family was his pride and joy and one of his best characteristics was he rarely lost his temper. His beautiful smile and infectious laugh lit up any room he was in. Paul had a great moral compass. He believed in treating others kindly and fairly. His sons stated, “He was the best father and grandfather anyone could have had. He will be forever missed.” His first love was spending time with Josephine and his family, especially his grandchildren. Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, Josephine Adams; two sons, Michael Delano Adams and Terry Paul Adams and wife, Vanessa; three grandchildren, Mason Paul Adams, Cale Joseph English and Kennedy Sue Adams; one sister, Marjorie Lou Morey; and a host of niece, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Paul G. and Sylvia Adams; and one sister, Mary Anne Rucker. Services for Paul will be held in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Moore, 201 W.
