Phillip Dale Hunter, 56, died Friday, Dec. 29. Services will be 10 a.m., today at Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Dr. Sam Davison will officiate with burial 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Ft. Sill National Cemetery in Elgin. Arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home in Blanchard. Mr. Hunter was born May 29, 1950, in Purcell to Lorene (Perkins) and Wan A. Hunter. He grew up in Norman and graduated from Norman High and VoTech. Mr. Hunter served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in August 1998, and was an active member of Southwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Mr. Hunter served as the music director for the “Real People’s Class” and also was involved in local retirement and home ministry. He was president of Oklahoma City Chevrolet Service Manager’s Club, vice president of Chevrolet’s “Only the Best” Club” in Dallas and retired as an auto service manager for Larry Spencer Chevrolet. Survivors include his wife, Susan of Moore; two daughters, Heidi Wright and husband Scott of Moore and Tiffany Hunter of Norman; step-children Colby Bramlett and his wife, Krystyn of Norman and Jennifer Smith and her husband, Justin of Norman; grandchildren, Cameron Locke, Allie Wright, Lennon Bramlett, Ella Bramlett; brothers Tom Hunter and his wife, Linda of Stillwater, Don Hunter and his wife Tina of Moore, Charles Hunter of Norman; sisters Wanda Smith and her husband, Albert of Eufaula, Linda Stanley and her husband Ron of Purcell; brothers-in-law, Mike and Steve Carter; numerous nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth Hunter. Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepard Hospice.
