Rayburn's Story

Rayburn Henry Brown, 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec.14, 2014. Ray was born on Aug. 12, 1939 in Bokchito to Harrison and Faye Brown. Ray was a retired school teacher, having taught at Moore, Kingspark, and Eastern Ave. Christian Academies. He was also a retired aircraft mechanic from TAFB. Ray served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War time. He loved to hunt, fish, do leather work and make knives. He was an active member of Beth Haven Baptist Church. Most of all, Ray was a wonderful husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary J. Brown; two daughters, Dawn Lee and husband, Mike and Deborah Jarvis and husband, Danny; one son, Tony Brown; seven grandchildren, Caleb Shelton and fiancé, Amanda Justice, Jordan Shelton and wife, Cassia, Chloe Shelton, Courtney Jarvis, Shelby Watts and husband, John, Keri Brown and Brandon Brown; six great-grandchildren; two nieces, Dyanna Schoemaker and husband David and Donna West and husband Gary. Ray is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harrison Brown Jr.; and two sisters, Betty Ann Brown and Barbara Brown. Funeral services to be held Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Beth Haven Baptist Church, 12400 S. Western in Oklahoma City. Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Services are under the direction of John Ireland Funeral Home in Moore.
