Sammy Jo "Jodi"'s Story
Sammy Jo "Jodi" Traxler, 79, peacefully left this earth to meet her Lord and Savior on June 6, 2016. Jodi was born on April 4, 1937 in Boswell, OK to Sam Wallace and Evelyn Caldwell. Jodi enjoyed working at DDA, a phonebook distribution company. She was a single mom most of the time she was raising her kids, working a variety of jobs to support her family, including nursing homes, Beauty Craft and even as a roller skating car hop at the Cowboy Drive-In in Dallas. She was a member of Southgate Baptist Church where she worked in the 4-year old and Kindergarten Sunday School class. Jodi was an avid reader of romance novels, and enjoyed watching the Lifetime and Hallmark channels on TV and old western shows. She was a collector of many things, especially money, Barbie Dolls and Grit Newspapers. She will be remembered by her grandchildren for her gifts of Campbell Soup ornaments and Campbell Soup Calendars EVERY year. Jodi liked to play solitaire on the computer and monopoly with the grandkids. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially the grandkids. Jodi is survived by her 3 boys, Tony R. Mason, Roger D. Mason and wife Bridgette, and Jack Edward Mason and wife Theresa; only daughter, Dawn Mobly and husband Ronny; grandchildren, Chris Mason, Julie Mason, Jared Mason, Chelsea Mason, LaChelle Mason, Derek Mason, Lacey Kennedy, Everett Mobly, Elisha Mobly Chute, Riley Mobly, Ember Mobly, Seth, Jeremiah, Joshua, Tristan, Cheyenne, Bellarene, Gracie, and Jaclyn Mason; great grandchildren, Noah, Logan, Ryland, Bryden, Brantley, Avery, Irisa, Brooke, Kolton, Tripp, and Grant and a baby boy in June; 2 sisters, Theresa, and Kathy; 4 brothers, Billy, Frankie,Henry Dale, and Jimmy. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Traxler; and 2 brothers, Kenny and Bobby. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Southgate Baptist Church, 740 SW 4th St., Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
