Thomas's Story

Thomas “Tom” Michael Boyett, 56, died March 12, 2015, at Methodist Hospital, Houston, of vascular complications. He was receiving treatment for several years for vascular disease and died peacefully in his sleep. He leaves his son, Thomas Michael Boyett II, of Moore, and his mother, Retha M. Hill of Trinity, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Marshall Boyett in 1974 and his stepfather, Gene Hill, in 1991. His former spouse, Pam Boyett, and two stepsons, Billy and Richard DeCray, currently reside in Moore. Tom was born on July 17, 1958, in Houston. He graduated from Austin High School in Houston in 1966. After graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana; Osan AFB, Korea; and Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. He deployed several times to Saudi Arabia in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm before retiring from the USAF after 20 years of meritorious service. Upon moving back to his home state of Texas, he worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a correctional officer. In November 2013, he retired from duty with the State of Texas. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. April 11 at Redtown Missionary Baptist Church at 6310 Texas State Highway 7, Pollok, Texas, on April 11. The service is open to friends and family​.
