Velma's Story

Velma Leona Little, 83, of Moore, died April 3, 2013. She was born Jan. 3, 1930, in Golden to Harve and Dora (Bell) McSpadden. Graveside services were April 6 at Sunset Memorial Park in Norman. Velma enjoyed fishing, crocheting and gardening. She also enjoyed birds, especially hummingbirds. Velma enjoyed going shopping and listening to country music. She had a great sense of humor. Velma was a very honest person and had a heart of gold. She would do anything for you. Velma was a layout operator for Western Electric Telephone Company and retired after 25 years of service. She enjoyed going for drives with the love of her life, her husband, Glenn. Her first love was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Richard Little; two brothers, Cecil and Bert McSpadden; two sisters, Lois Stephens and Dorthy McSpadden. Velma is survived by three daughters, Charolette Hards and husband William of Hot Springs Village, Ark., Janice Bayless and husband Tom of Moore and Patricia McLaughlin and husband Harold of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Connie Ruth McSpadden of Shreveport, La.; two grandchildren, Angella McLaughlin and Bryan McLaughlin and wife Alicia; and one great-grandchild, Alex. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel in Moore.
